Introduction to Storytelling Workshop presented by Now You’re Talking! & Cinema Arts Centre

A 6-week online workshop from Monday, June 21^st to Monday, July 26^th | 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday evenings

If you’ve been curious about how storytellers at THE MOTH and THIS AMERICAN LIFE (and my show, NOW YOU’RE TALKING!) craft such interesting, wonderful stories, come to my next beginners’ storytelling workshop online via Zoom.

You’ll spend six weeks (Monday, June 21st though Monday, July 26th from 7-8:30 pm) learning the key building blocks of storytelling and how to craft your own true story.

Stories are the cornerstone of all communication and learning how to tell an authentic, true story from your life will serve you well whether you want to grab the attention of your internal team, develop a compelling Ted Talk, or persuade people to believe in and back your cause.

You’ll take part in story improv and games to learn how to find the meaningful moments in your lives. Everyone will leave with one 5-minute story to tell to friends, co-workers, maybe even on a stage.

This workshop is limited to 30 people so that we’ll have time to give everyone personalized attention and feedback. Everyone who is willing will get a chance to tell their story to the group and family/friends at the final Zoom session.

The workshop is taught by Tracey Segarra, an award-winning storyteller whose stories have been broadcast on The Moth Radio Hour, as well as the Story Collider and Risk! podcasts. Tracey also hosts a popular live storytelling show on Long Island, “Now You’re Talking!”

Instructions: Classes will meet online via the Zoom link provided in your email order confirmation on 6 consecutive Monday nights starting June 21^st and concluding with the final class/performance on July 26^th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
